We are hosting two intakes for 2017 and the second one is approaching!

If you are interested in joining our league we highly recommend you book to attend one of our Wednesday night Taster Sessions to come and test out your skills, and also get a jump on the Fresh Meat program to learn the basics in a less formal setting from one of our team of coaches.

We have kit that is available for hire on a first come first served basis, but we expect that most skaters will have purchased kit within four weeks of Intake day (this does not include the open-level kit hire) and if Roller Derby is definitely for you we recommend buying your kit as early as possible so you can make adjustments to your skate set-up as you learn.

The kit required for Roller Derby – not including your skates:

  • Elbow pads
  • Knee pads
  • Wrist guards
  • Helmet
  • Mouth-guard

You can purchase a decent starter kit (or fresh meat pack) from most skate shops.

The fresh meat program initially focuses upon basic skating skills and then progresses to the skills required for Roller Derby as outlined by the WFTDA minimum skills requirements for bouting skaters.
